Everything Double is a musical comedy about love between
children, told from the point of view of the characters as they experience
this emotion for the first time. The games, mix-ups and disentanglements
which naturally proceed from the girls and boys’ dealings with each
other give the play great humor, agility and rhythm. The simultaneous
simplicity and depth of the story allow the child and adult viewer to
identify and sympathize with the characters.

This play was a result of a research project on the first
appearance of love ties between nine and ten year olds, which was carried
out in theatre-workshops of children that age, with whom the subject was
treated through the use of improvisational games and other techniques.
The play opened in April of 1991 at the UNAM’s Juan Ruiz de Alarcon
Theatre, and achieved great success among critics and audiences alike.
It was invited to the XIX Festival Internacional Cervantino of 1991, and
participated in the V Sinaloa Cultural Festival.
