  • It's offered a workshop about Analysis of Dramatic Texts and Production in the frame of the Great Theatrical Sample of Secondary that is promoted by the Secretary of Public Education and the Coordination of Theatre of the National Institute of Fine arts.

2007

  • Grupo 55 offers advices for the National Program of Theatre for Schools, 13 º cycle.
  • Participates in the Plenary of the Theatre for Schools, 13 º cycle, in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán.
  • The play "Noisy Stories" was presented in the United States for the Flint Hills International Children´s Festival in Saint Paul, Minnesota; also was given several presentations in the CECUT in Tijuana, Baja California.
  • Functions of the play "A fairy in the mirror" was given in Faro de Oriente and Isabela Corona Theater (Distrito Federal, Mexico).
  • Functions of the play "Upstairs in the sky" was given in Casa del Lago, Faro de Oriente y Centro Cultural Las Bombas (Distrito Federal, Mexico).
  • Grupo 55 performs a season of the play "Sea of Silence" in the context of the Program of Scholastic Theater in the Federal District, cycle 2006-2007. 2007
  • It is continued offering functions of the different spectacles in repertoire, in festivales, fairs of the book and cultural events.

2006

  • Grupo 55 presents the premiere of “Sea of Silence” written by Robin Kingsland and directed by Larry Silberman, in the Theater Orientación, Centro Cultural del Bosque.
  • Shows of “Upstairs in the sky” were presented in the Program “Artes por Todas Partes”, managed by the Secretaría de Cultura of the Federal District.
  • Mexico City’s Theatre for Schools Season of “The last one is a sissy!" by Larry Silberman, Perla Szuchmacher and Alegría Martinez continues, theater spectacle for children of primary education. Cycle 2003-2004.
  • Grupo 55 presents its new spectacle “Sea of Silence”.
  • Grupo 55 coordinates the National Program of Theatre for Schools (which is sponsored by the National Coordination of Scholastic Theater of the INBA); training and coaching groups from six Mexican states.
  • Grupo 55 presents the play "Upstairs in the sky" written by Carey English and Guy Holland in coproduction with the Quicksilver Theatre from England.
  • Grupo 55 is invited to present a showcase of the spectacle "Noisy Stories" in APAP 2005, New York.

  • Mexico City’s Theatre for Schools Season of “The last one is a sissy!" by Larry Silberman, Perla Szuchmacher and Alegría Martinez continues, theater spectacle for children of primary education. Cycle 2003-2004.
  • Group 55 give advices to the educational ones that participate in 25º anniversary of the Great Theater Sample for middle and high-scholars.
  • The play “Noisy Stories” participates in the Expo-Tapachula, Chiapas.
    It participates in the workshop "Theater with children and for children", for Primary Education teachers, SEP.
  • One of their directors gives an educational workshop of theater for special education teachers and students, subject: dramatic art for children and young people.
  • The play "A fairy in the mirror" is presented in the 4o. Festival of the Infantile Culture in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
  • "Bad words" participates in the First Children’s Festival in the Universidad Autónoma del Carmen, Cd. del Carmen, Campeche.
  • The play "Bad words" participates in the First Spring’s Festival, in Querétaro, Querétaro.
  • One of the Grupo 55 directors gives a conference called “The Theater, the children and the society” in the National School of Theater Arts.
  • Group 55 participates with the play “Bad words” in “México, Gateway to the Americas”, Villaurrutia Hall.

2003

  • Larry Silberman’s and Perla Szuchmacher “Useless to apply without fulfilling the requirements” for middle and high-scholars, re-opens for Mexico City’s Theatre for Schools Season of 2003.
  • The group offers the National Program of Theatre for Schools’ acting, directing and design diplomas, with the sponsorship of INBA and the cultural institutes of the various states of the Republic of Mexico.
  • The play “Bad words” re-opens at the El Granero Theatre in the Centro Cultural del Bosque, INBA.
  • Grupo 55 participates in New York City’s APAP (Arts Presenters Conference), giving conferences on the group’s activities and theater for children and young adults in Mexico.

2002

  • The scholastic theater season of Carey English’s “The mamas and the papas” continues.
  • “Bad words” opens at the “La Gruta” theater at the “Centro Cultural Helénico.”
  • One of Grupo 55´s directors acts as jury in the selection of the FILIJ playwriting award for “The best play for children,” for the CNCA editing house.
  • The group participates in the Hispano Theatre Festival, Washington D.C., with the play “A Fairy in the Mirror”.
  • On of the groups directors acts as jury to select a project for the eighth season of Theatre for Schools in the state of Morelos (Cultural Center of Morelos, Infantile Cultural Center La Vecindad).
  • The first diploma for teachers “From games to theatre, from theatre to education and from person to part,” 160 hours in length, is offered with backing from INBA, in collaboration with SEP.
  • The group moves to new offices, with room for the CICA's library, video collection, consulting space and administrative offices. Here, the diverse activities are organized and developed, and consulting given to various Mexican artists and groups, thanks to the support granted by FONCA.
  • The group participates with the shows “Baby Love” in the Puro Teatro Festival, organized by the La Trouppe theatre group, with backing from Alas y Raíces a los niños of CNCA.
  • Two workshops on “Theatre Design Using Meager Resources” are given to Public Junior High teachers, with backing from INBA.
  • The new version of “Noisy stories” opens at the Theater 2 of the Cultural Center Telmex, co produced by OCESA.
  • Two “From games to education and from person to part” workshops are held in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, with support from Science’s House and FONCA.

2001

  • A Grupo 55 director acts as a judge in the selection of children’s theater groups for the CNCA.
  • At the INBA's request, “The mamas and the papas,” a play for pre-scholars by Carey English, opens for Mexico City’s Theatre for Schools season of 2001/2002, with 250 performances.
  • The group’s directors offer training courses at the TEC de Monterrey and Iberoamericana universities (Mexico).
  • Grupo 55 offers again the “When theatre is just a game” workshop at the Fondo de Cultura Económica.
  • On of Grupo 55’s directors wins the CNCA's playwriting award for best children’s theater, for her play “Bad words”.
  • The group organizes the meeting (in Aguascalientes, Mexico) of participants of the National Program of Theatre for Schools, for groups from 18 of the country’s states. This is sponsored by the National Coordination of Theater of INBA, the IMSS, and the cultural institutes and educational ministries of the participating states.
  • Grupo 55 offers 4 diplomas for Comedic Theater (Acting, Playwriting, Directing, and Theatrical Production) in Mexico City, sponsored by that city’s government, the NOVIB foundation, the INBA, the UNAM and the CNCA.
  • The group receives a grant from the FONCA, for the creation and development of the CICA (Centro Integral de Capacitación Artística).

2000

  • The Grupo 55 directors act as judges in the National Coordination do Dance of INBA's Program of Dance for Schools 2000/01’s selection of dance groups for children.
  • “Noisy stories” has three performances at the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico).
  • The same play is selected to perform the 2000/01 season of Theatre for Schools (250 performances) in Mexico City.
  • One of the group’s directors acts as a judge in the selection of the playwriting award for best children’s theater, for the CNCA editorial.
  • Grupo 55 leads the “When theatre is just a game” workshop for the Fondo de Cultura Económica editorial house.
  • The group once again directs the National Program of Theatre for Schools, coaching groups from 7 Mexican states, each staging a play for a season of 1000 performances. This project is sponsored by the National Coordination of Theater of INBA, the IMSS, and the cultural institutes and educational ministries of the participating states.
  • The play “Baby love” is performed at the National Show of Theater in Mérida, Yucatan (Mexico).
  • “Useless to apply without fulfilling the requirements” is performed as a part of the MERCOSUR festival in Cordoba city, Argentina.

1999

  • Grupo 55 coaches groups of dancers which stage shows for children for the National s Coordination of Dance-INBA.
  • The group coordinates the Querétaro state children’s theater program similar to the National Program, but with six groups from within the state.
  • At the request of Mexico’s Ministry of Education the group writes the chapters on dance and corporal expression of the teacher’s edition of the book “Artistic Education for Primary School”.
  • One of Grupo 55’s directors is invited to the International Meeting of Children’s Theater Directors in Dresden, Germany.
  • “The last one is a sissy!” has three showings at the Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico).
  • Carey English’s “Baby love”, a play for pre-school aged children, opens for the Theatre for Schools season of 1999/2000 (250 performances), at the request of the INBA.
  • A Grupo 55 director gives a conference at the Telón Abierto International Festival of Theatre for Young Audiences of 1999, in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
  • One director acts as a judge for the playwriting award for best children’s theater, for the CNCA publishing house.
  • The group offers a Theatrical Production workshop at the Puro Teatro theater festival, organized by the INBA, the CNCA, and the La Trouppe theater-group.
  • Grupo 55 leads a workshop entitled “When theatre is just a game” for the Fondo de Cultura Económica.
  • “Useless to apply without fulfilling the requirements” and “Noisy stories” are presented at the National Show of Theater in Tijuana, Mexico.

1998

  • In March, “Noisy stories” is performed at the International Arts Festival of Costa Rica.
  • Grupo 55 coordinates the National Program of Theatre for Schools (which is sponsored by the National Coordination of Scholastic Theater of the INBA, the IMSS, and by the cultural institutions and educational boards of the participating states); training and coaching groups from five Mexican states, with the purpose of having each produce a show for a 100-performance season. Grupo 55 also coordinates the same program for 1999.
  • One of the group’s directors acts as a judge in the CNCA’s National Coordination of Infantile Cultural Development in the selection of artistic groups for children, and coaches groups from several Mexican states for the CNDCI of 1999. This director is again invited as a judge in 1999, 2000, and 2001.
  • The play “Useless to apply without fulfilling the requirements” opens at the El Galeón Theater, and is received with much enthusiasm both by critics and the audience. It is invited to participate in the Program of School Theater for Junior High Schools of 1998/99, in Mexico City.
  • The group creates a workshop on playwriting and directing, sponsored by the Cultural institute of the Organization, for theater-group members in San Luis Potosi (Mexico).
  • A workshop is held for the TISSEC on the performance and creation of plays for children in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz (Mexico).

1997

  • The first National Creation Seminar directed towards young audiences, or the Dance Coordination of the INBA is dictated.
  • In May, an English version of “The last one is a sissy!” is performed at the International Art Festival of the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. “The last one is a sissy!” performs a season at the Julio Castillo Theater (INBA). This play is selected as a participant in Telón Abierto, International Festival of Theater for Young Audiences in Aguascalientes (Mexico), November, 1997.
    Grupo 55, along with another group belonging to the above organization, stages “The last one is a sissy!” in the state of Aguascalientes, through the National Program of Theatre for Schools.
  • The group tours through Mexico with the plays “I don't want to play like that anymore” and “Chunches, chacharas y cachivaches”.
  • Directs Lisa Loomer's show “Big Mouth,” for children and young adults, with the group “Working Classroom” in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A.
  • Acts as a judge in the awarding of the playwriting award at the International Fair of Infantile and Youthful Book of Mexico.

1996

  • The Group tours central Mexico with the plays “A fairy in the mirror” and “The last one is a sissy!”
  • Grupo 55 is selected by the INBA’s Direction of Support of the States of the Federation to carry out a project for scholastic theater in San Luis Potosi (Mexico). For this purpose, the group opens “Noises and strangers” with the Theatric Group La Carrilla, taking charge of the writing and staging of the play.
  • The play “Noisy stories” is performed for a season in the El Galeón Theater. The Group tours the same play through Baja California (Mexico).
  • The FONCA gives the group a grant for the staging of a play on “democratic values,” for a youth and adult audience.
  • “Chunches, Chacharas y Cachivaches,” a play for pre-school aged children, opens at the request of the INBA for the scholastic season of ‘96/’97.
  • The group receives a grant from the Ford Foundation to carry out research, training, the creation of teaching materials, and the staging of plays on current events.
  • Grupo 55 acts as a judge in the selection of the Playwriting award at the International Fair of Infantile and Youthful Book of Mexico.
  • Directs two plays in Barcelona, Spain, with the group Crac al Gag.
  • “The last one is a sissy!” is published by the Publication Direction of the CNCA as a part of the series “The best theatre for children”.

1995

  • “The last one is a sissy!” receives the award for the best children’s play of 1994 by the APT (a group of theater-journalists) and best original children’s play by the UCCT (Union of Theater Critics and Chroniclers).
  • The star of “I don’t want to play like that anymore” is named “Best monologue actor” by the ACT (Association of Theater Critics).
  • The group’s director is invited by the USA’s Theatre Communications Group in order to participate in an exchange program with theatrical professionals of the United States.
  • The book “How to do theatre-without getting caught” (written by members of the Grupo 55) is published by the Unity of Educative Publications of SEP and it is reedited in 1998 and in 2000 again, with 10,000 and 20,000 copies, respectively.
  • The play “Noisy stories” opens for a scholastic season ’95/’96 (INBA).
  • “I don’t want to play like that anymore” is published by the Publication Direction of the CNCA as a part of a collection entitled “The best theatre for children.”
  • “The last one is a sissy!” is invited to attend the International Festival of the Brooklyn Academy of Music 1997 in New York City. The play takes tours of northwestern Mexico in 1995 and 1996.

1994

  • “The last one is a sissy!” (Sponsored by UNAM and FONCA) opens.
  • Though the Ministries of Education and Foreign Relations of Mexico, the group is invited to participate in a conference at the CABE. ’94 (California Association for Bilingual Education) in San Jose, California.
  • The plays “I don’t want to play like that anymore” and “A fairy in the mirror” are selected in the Second National Theater Summons (IMSS, CNCA, INBA, DDF, ISSSTE).
  • The group performs for a season at the Julio Prieto Theater of the IMSS.
  • “The last one is a sissy!” is selected by the SEP-INBA to perform at elementary schools in Mexico City. The play is selected by the third National Theater Summons to take tours through Mexico in 1995.
  • The group is given a grant by SEDESOL in order to open a school for artistic initiation and development.

1993

  • An English one and a French version of “A Fairy in the Mirror” (“Un Fee Dans le Miroir”) are opened.
  • A research project on sexism among children is conducted, and “The last one is a sissy!” is written.
  • The plays “I don’t want to play like that anymore” and “A fairy in the mirror” are presented at the International Festival of Havana, Cuba.

1992

  • “I don’t want to play like that anymore” re-opens at the Helénico Theater. Both this play and “A fairy in the mirror” are invited to the Cultural Festival of Sinaloa ’92.
  • Tours by different states from the country are made (Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, Baja California, etc.) and by the south of California, E.U.A.
  • The FONCA gives the group a grant for its next production.

1991

  • “Everything double” opens at the Juan Ruiz de Alarcón Theater, UNAM, with the sponsorship of the INBA, CNCA, and UNAM.
  • “A fairy in the mirror” opens at the Group Pierrot’s Festival in Xalapa, Veracruz (Mexico).
  • The group is invited to present “Everything double” at the Cervantino Cultural Festival of 1991 and the Cultural Festival of Sinaloa ’91, along with “A fairy in the mirror”.

1990

  • Third tour through Mexico with the same features.
  • The Mexican group finds a permanent address and establishes itself as a non-profit organization.
  • Auditions are held, as well as acting workshops in order to increase the number of members.

1989

  • The group gives its second Latin American tour teaching and acting “A fairy in the mirror” and “Clown’s stuffs” in Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico.
  • Grupo 55 leads training workshops for communitarian psychology students at the University of Costa Rica, as well as teaching workshops in CATIE (Centro de Experimentación de Tecnologías Agropecuarias).

1988-1989

  • First tour in Latin America (Argentina, Chile, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, México) featuring “I don’t want to play like that anymore” and offering training courses.
  • Training days for child and adult psychology teachers are added in Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico.

1987

  • Grupo 55 is formed in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
